Cookie Policy

1. What cookies are

Cookies are small text files that a website stores on your device. They let a site remember things between pages and visits, such as whether you are signed in or whether you have already dismissed a banner.

This policy also covers similar technologies that work in the same way, including local storage and session storage.

We keep our use of cookies deliberately small. We do not use advertising cookies, we do not run retargeting pixels, and we do not sell data about your browsing to anyone.

2. Your choice

When you first visit build-bros.co.uk you will see a banner asking about analytics cookies. We do not currently run any analytics, so whichever you choose, only the essential items in section 3 are used.

Nothing non-essential is loaded before you choose. If we introduce analytics in future, nothing will be downloaded or run unless you have accepted, so declining costs you nothing and changes nothing about how the site works for you.

Your choice is stored so we do not have to ask on every page. You can change it at any time, see section 6.

3. Essential cookies

These are strictly necessary for the website to function. They do not require consent, and the site cannot work properly without them.

Cookie	Purpose	Type	Expiry
build-bros-ltd-session	Keeps your session together as you move between pages, and keeps you signed in to the customer portal	First-party, essential	2 hours after your last activity
XSRF-TOKEN	Security token that protects forms against cross-site request forgery	First-party, essential	2 hours after your last activity
bb-cookie-consent	Remembers your cookie choice so we do not ask again. Stored in your browser's local storage rather than as a cookie	First-party, essential	Until you clear this site's data in your browser
remember_web_*	Set only if you tick "remember me" when signing in to the portal	First-party, essential	400 days, or until you sign out

Spam protection on our forms: our contact and booking forms use Cloudflare Turnstile to check that a real person is sending them. When you view one of those forms, your browser loads the check from Cloudflare, which processes technical data such as your IP address and browser details to tell people apart from automated bots. It does not set cookies on build-bros.co.uk. Cloudflare's own privacy information is available at cloudflare.com/privacypolicy.

4. Analytics cookies

We do not currently use analytics cookies, or any other analytics or tracking tool, on this website.

If we introduce analytics in future, for example Google Analytics, we will update this policy first, list every cookie involved in this section, and load nothing until you have accepted analytics in the cookie banner.

5. Cookies we do not use

For the avoidance of doubt, we do not use:

• Advertising or retargeting cookies
• Social media tracking pixels
• Cross-site behavioural profiling
• Any cookie that shares your data with a data broker

Our maps are provided by OpenStreetMap through a self-hosted library and do not set tracking cookies. Our fonts are hosted on our own server rather than loaded from a third-party font service, so no request is made to another company when you load a page.

6. How to change or withdraw your consent

On our site: clear this site's data in your browser settings and the consent banner will appear again on your next visit, where you can make a different choice.

In your browser: you can also block or delete cookies through your browser settings. Blocking essential cookies will break parts of the site, including signing in to the customer portal.

• Chrome: Settings, Privacy and security, Third-party cookies
• Safari: Settings, Privacy
• Firefox: Settings, Privacy and Security
• Edge: Settings, Cookies and site permissions

7. If you have already given consent

Because we do not currently run analytics, accepting in the banner has not caused any analytics data to be collected. If we introduce analytics and you later withdraw consent, that stops future collection, and you can ask us to delete anything already collected. See the "Your rights" section of our Privacy Policy.

8. Changes to this policy

We will update this page whenever our use of cookies changes, and change the version number and date at the top. If we ever introduce a new category of non-essential cookie, we will ask for your consent again rather than assume the old answer still applies.

9. Questions

Email hello@build-bros.co.uk and we will explain any of the above in plain English.

More detail about how we handle personal data is in our Privacy Policy.
