FAQ

Frequently asked questions

The questions business owners actually ask us, answered straight. If yours is not here, ask us on a call and we will give you the same kind of answer.

Pricing

How much does a website cost?

Our packages start at £499 for a four-page Starter site and run to £1,799 for Pro Growth, with bespoke projects quoted on enquiry. Every price is fixed before work starts, so you know exactly what you are paying. All our prices are published on the pricing page rather than hidden behind a sales call.

Are there any hidden costs?

No. Your quoted package price covers design, build, launch and your first year of domain registration, and it does not change unless you ask for something outside the agreed scope. If you do, we quote that separately and only proceed once you have approved it. Ongoing hosting and maintenance are optional monthly plans from £25, which include your domain renewal once you have completed 12 months on a plan. One other cost worth knowing about: if you ask us to move your website and domain to another hosting provider, there is a one-off £100 admin fee for that work.

How do payments work?

You pay a 50% deposit to book your build slot and the balance before the site goes live. There is nothing to pay in between. Invoices are paid by card or PayPal through your customer portal, and monthly plans are collected automatically by card.

Timescales

How long does it take to build my website?

Typical launch is within one week, subject to scope and content. Larger packages with more pages and integrations take longer. The most common cause of delay is not the build, it is waiting for text, photos and access from the client.

What is the process from enquiry to launch?

Enquiry, free discovery call, deposit and design, build, then launch. You review the site on a private preview link before it goes anywhere near the public, and you get two rounds of revisions as standard, three on Pro Growth. Nothing goes live until you have approved it and the balance is paid.

Ownership

Do I own my website?

Yes. Ownership of the finished website transfers to you once final payment has been received. That covers the design, the pages and your content. If you ever move to another provider you can have a copy of your site files at no charge, and your domain is always yours to take. If you would like us to prepare and carry out the move for you, there is a one-off £100 admin fee.

Who owns my domain name?

Your domain is registered in your name and belongs to you. If we register it as part of your build, we will transfer control to you on request at any time. We do not hold domains hostage.

Getting started

What do you need from me to get started?

A list of your services, your service area, your contact details, any logo and photos you already have, and access to your domain if you own one. If you do not have written content or decent photos, say so on the call and we will agree an approach rather than let the project stall.

Do I have to write all the content myself?

Not necessarily. Growth and above include SEO content pieces written by us, and we will always guide you on what each page needs to say. Where you know your trade best, your input makes the copy better, so most projects work well as a collaboration.

Revisions

How many changes can I ask for during the build?

Every package includes two rounds of revisions, and Pro Growth includes three. A round means you review the site and send us your consolidated feedback, and we work through it. Extra rounds beyond that are quoted at a fixed price before we do the work.

Hosting and domains

Do you provide hosting?

Yes. Both care plans include hosting, your SSL certificate and regular backups, starting with Care & Hosting at £25 a month, and your domain renewal is included once you have completed 12 months on a plan. If you would rather host elsewhere you can, though you will then be responsible for backups, SSL renewal, domain renewal and server updates yourself.

Care plans

Do I need a care plan?

It is optional, and we recommend one. Hosting, backups, SSL renewal and security updates have to be done by somebody, and sites where the answer is nobody tend to break or get compromised eventually. Care & Hosting is £25 a month, and Care & Maintenance at £50 adds 30 minutes of website changes each month.

What does the 30 minutes of monthly changes cover?

Small edits: updating prices, changing opening hours or contact details, swapping photos, editing text, adding a staff member or fixing a broken link. It does not cover new pages, redesigns or new functionality, which are quoted separately. If a request will not fit in the time, we tell you the price before we start.

Can I cancel a monthly plan?

Yes. There is no minimum term on any of our monthly plans, so you are never locked into a fixed contract. We ask for 30 days' notice before your next billing date, and cancelling then stops the payments. If hosting was part of your plan you will need somewhere else for the site to live. You can have a copy of your site files at no charge for 30 days after cancelling, or we can prepare and carry out the move for a one-off £100 admin fee. If you cancel before completing 12 months on a plan, your domain renewal is not included.

SEO

How long does SEO take to work?

Realistically four to six months before the change is clearly visible, with earlier movement in search impressions before rankings shift. New domains and competitive markets take longer. Anyone promising results in a few weeks is selling you something other than SEO.

Can you guarantee I will rank number one on Google?

No, and neither can anybody else. Nobody controls Google's results, so a guaranteed position is either a misleading promise or a target so obscure it is worthless. What we do guarantee is real work every month and an honest report of what changed.

Booking

What happens on the free discovery call?

It is 30 minutes, by phone or video, with no pitch and no obligation. We ask about your business, your customers and what you want the website to do, then tell you which package fits and what it would cost. If you do not need what we sell, we will say so.

When can I book a call?

Seven days a week, between 08:00 and 20:00 UK time. Pick a slot on the booking page, confirm your email address, and you will get a confirmation with a calendar invite once we approve the time.

After launch

What happens after my site goes live?

We check that forms, click-to-call, SSL and mobile display all work, and that Google can index the site. You then either take a care plan and we look after it, or you take it on yourself. Either way the site is yours, and you are welcome back for changes at any point.

Can you take over a website somebody else built?

Sometimes, depending on how it was built and what state it is in. We will look at it honestly on a call, and if maintaining it would cost you more than replacing it we will tell you that. We would rather turn work down than take money for something that will not work.
